I know that many of you are already familiarized with this great tool called Pinterest, so today, I want to show you a very simple way of using it as a daily inspiration for your outfits, without spending a dime if you are not interested in doing that.
This will have a great impact on your self-esteem, on the way that you see your wardrobe, on the way the rest of the world sees you and probably on the new & improved you.
Step 1 : Analyze your closet!
You can do that in multiples ways. You can just take a look in your closet and search for some inspiration at the same time, or you can take notes of the pieces that you love the most or take photos of them just to have them on hand when you have sufficient time to search for inspiration. This is a great exercise for anyone, because it is not only a calming process, but also a way to see from another perspective your wardrobe. Who knows, maybe you will even discover some old pieces that you would like to bring back to the light but you don’t know how.
Step 2 : The Pinterest moment!
This is one of my favorite things to do in the evening before getting to bed. So, with your well made list that you did earlier with the pieces that you love the most, you just sit in front of your computer and begin your research. For example, let’s say that you found a beautiful lace blouse or a basic white T-shirt, all you need to do is just type that in the search box of your Pinterest application and, by magic 😀 , a lot of inspiring things will appear in front of you. This is such a fun process and I can assure you, this will become a custom. Oh, not to forget, if the photo that you found as an inspiration doesn’t match exactly with the pieces that you own, it is not the end of the world… use what you have, because by doing this, you will become an original!
Step 3 : Save every Pin that you like!
This is the reason that I’m so crazy about Pinterest, it gives me the possibility of organize everything by categories and it gives me unlimited access to inspiring things.
Step 4 : Mix and match!
Now that you have your loved pieces and your inspiration, get back in your closet and begin mixing and matching. You can even try out the new outfits that you put together.
Step 5 : Another round of photos, please!
If you do decide to try out what you put together, don’t forget to take pictures. This is a secret that will make your life so much easier, because from that moment on, you will have your inspiration on your own cellphone gallery and, as a bonus, you will already know how the outfit fits you.
xoxo,
Diana.
